Updating 2018
I'M BACK!!!
You might read the title and think.. "Anna, it is almost two weeks into the new year". Give me a break! Let me tell you, the end of 2017 was busy and this new year has already been quite eventful! First of all, I didn't tell any of you about my Christmas season/festivities, so I'll take a quick moment to update you all on that! Josh and I were able to go visit my family in Indiana, and it was amazing! Josh and I both had the time off and so we were able to be with my family for 10 days! We got to spend a lot of much needed time with my parents, brothers, sisters-in-law, and my nieces/nephews. I especially loved all of the snuggles that I got from baby Ike!
On a totally different note.. Food is a big deal in my family, so we went to town (literally). We hit some of my Bloomington favorites such as Hu Hot, Chedders, Mother Bears, and McAlister's Deli (hopefully those are spelled right?!). Plus Josh and I truly enjoyed all of my mom's delicious meals and treats. After the Christmas season, my pants are definitely feeling a bit tighter, but it was so worth it! Josh and I weren't the greatest at taking pictures but I have a few cute ones to share (Don't worry, they are coming up). Some of the fun activities we did were going skating with the nieces/nephews, going to Pitch perfect 3 with the girls, opening presents OBVIOUSLY, going to the Temple with my parents, and making a blanket ladder with Caitlin. When I say with... it was mostly Caitlin. Thank you! We were blessed with many gifts from our family and we definitely felt loved and spoiled as we ended the year. For those who gave us gifts and sent us cards, we are so thankful for your generosity. We are so thankful for our family members and all of the fun times that we had with each other. This was a Christmas that I will always remember fondly (except for the nasty cold.. I was pretty angry about that. Just ask Josh! Getting sick during vacation is the worst!)
With the start of the new year I actually started a new job! YAY YAY YAY! You probably do not know about this since I haven't told many people! During the Christmas season I accepted a full time position as a Infertility staff nurse at RMA of Philadelphia. When you are reading this I will be close to finishing my second week of work! There is a lot to learn, and there is a TON of driving, but I have been loving everything and enjoying the chance to help others in their goals of having a healthy baby! What an honor! I won't say too much because I am pretty private about my work life, but I am so incredibly happy to have found a job where I seem to be a good fit. I hope that I will be able to learn quickly and be as great as the nurses who are training me. I am truly impressed with the knowledge and the skills of others! I am honored to be a nurse and I am so excited to continue my training.
Sorry but not sorry.... I do not have any pictures of myself in my work scrubs, but here are two cute photos of my nephew Ike and my niece Elsie who wrapped herself as a gift for Josh and me this Christmas. She told me that she wrapped herself up to give to me as a my first child. Now seriously, how cute is that!? I think she is pretty excited for more nieces and nephews for sure. I wanted to keep this blog post short and sweet so that I can prepare some other content for you guys! I think my few next posts will probably be 1. Best songs of the 2018 winter season.... Title to be refined though.. haha. I also want to post another recipe blog as well as a book review since I am on my way to finishing another one that has truly opened my eyes! I may even post a 2018 goals list or bucket list. Hopefully you haven't forgotten all about me and instead are willing to follow my blog and read along with me into the journeys that this year is going to bring! 2017 was a year full of many new adventures. We had many many many ups and a few downs that shook our lives, but we ended with hearts full of hope and joy towards the new year. I know that everyone's 2017 was different, but I hope that you have all looked back on the happy moments and reflected on the good that is around us all and the good that you can be for others.
Again, let me know if there are any topics that you guys are all interested in reading about this year! I'm still a big rookie with the blog, but I really want to increase my blogging skills and better the product that I develop with my blog this year.
See you Soon!! :)
