I'm Feeling 24!

Let me tell you, I have been incredibly spoiled this year for my birthday. I feel so blessed to have celebrated with my husband, my family, and my friends. There has been a lot of craziness so I haven't been able to dedicate a lot of time to the blog, but I decided that I should give you all an update that I'm officially an adult!! I think I realized that I was getting older when I turned 23 last year. This is due to the fact that I could no longer sing the Taylor Swift song 22. No one cares about us mid twenty something people! Maybe there is a song out for us somewhere!

The festivities started last week because my Dad was able to come out and visit my husband and I in Pennsylvania. I felt honored even though his main incentive was the pigeon even that he was judging (If you didn't know, my father raises pigeons). If you ever want to learn something really cool, listen to my dad talk about pigeons. If you ever want to laugh, just look at the number of pigeon photos are in his phone. I digress.... It was really nice to have my father visit! He even spoiled us by taking Josh and I to Randi's Restaurant and Bar! This restaurant was AMAZING! I have had scallops before and never liked them. The scallops at this place were bigger than a dollar coin, had the texture of marshmallows, and tasted like pure butter. I am obviously not a food blogger, but DANG!!!! The meal was so good! I also sampled Dad's and Josh's food too.. because I was the birthday girl!

After the delicious dinner, we took Dad to go see the new Thor movie. We all know that the big question we all had during this movie was: WHY IN THE WORLD DID THEY CUT THOR'S HAIR!!!! I know that this is so superficial of me, but what the heck! Also, what was up with the slightly stranger things/flashback/Guardians of the Galaxy/Sketch/80's feel of the whole movie!? Mostly I'm so  opinionated because Thor is my favorite superhero and I feel like they made him look very silly. In some moments I liked this, and in other moments I was like... He is Thor... he can do everything.. you silly people. I give this movie a 7/10 because it is Thor and I guess it was pretty funny. Plus... why the heck was Matt Damon in it? I could go on for a while about this. When the movie ended, I just turned to Josh with my mouth open. I did not know how to feel! I still don't entirely know how I feel about it. I know that a lot of people are enjoying the new Thor movie though! I still recommend that you go see it yourself! On another tangent, why are soda's at the movie theater so dang expensive? Due to the fact that it was my birthday I wanted to have a soda to celebrate, but they are like 5-7 dollars! No thank you! This poor college student family ain't got the funds!

My actual birthday was incredible. My husband, parents, and awesome sister-in-law Carly gave me super cute gifts. I also received some really cute cards from my family (SHOUT OUT AMY+MOM!!!!). When I opened my presents, I realized just how nerdy I am. I received a ton of candy from my mom.. only the best (Mint patties, Watermelon sour patch, and Reese's), a Christmas pillow, new makeup brushes, a harry potter shirt, a Studio Ghibli shirt, Harry Potter decals, and money. I am definitely feeling the love! You would think an adult such as myself would have more mature taste, but nope! I loved everything so much and I also received many comments on Facebook which totally made my day as well. My heart is full of so much gratitude, and I love all of you who helped make my birthday so special!

Now let's talk about the most important part of the day: FOOD!! Josh and I got two things from Trader Joe's to try for my birthday: Macaroons and the Berry Tart. WOW!!! They were both incredible, and I think that I will be hooked to both for life. I kind of went all out with the treats even though I'm technically on that health streak. Hopefully the fact that I worked out 4 times last week slightly made up for the treats that I ate on my birthday. If you have a Trader Joe's near you, just go pick out those treats and give them try. Heck, just go buy everything at Trader Joes and buy it. Everything they they sell is freaking delicious and well worth your money. If you can't tell, I should probably join an addiction recovery program for how much I love and spend at Trader Joes. It is an addiction, and at least I'm acknowledging the fact that I have a problem. First step: CHECK!

Since I'm a nerd, what activities did we do on that fine Sunday? (If you didn't know my birthday is November 19, and it was on a Sunday this year). My Dad and I went on a walk near my apartment complex, we ate a lot of food (obviously), and we watched Fantastic Beasts! We also ate some homemade Pesto Tortellini which is a favorite in the Wilson household.

As a little finale I want to just say thank you to every single person that helped make my birthday an incredible day. It was truly amazing, and I feel so loved! I'm not mentioning what I received to make anyone feel bad or to gloat in any way. Instead I'm hoping that you see how grateful I am for everything I received. I am spoiled with the love of others, and I'm so thankful for every single person in my life.

If you are a reaching the end of this, let me know what you think! Do you like posts where I just ramble on? (because I'm really good at that) In a future post I'm going to update ya'll on what I have been doing fitness wise as well as another book review. Also, I did make a Spotify playlist of the songs that I mentioned recently in my blog. I'm planning on adding songs to it as I make more blog posts. You should look me up there and follow me! I recently deleted all of my playlists except for my starred as I'm wanting to start fresh. Thank you everyone!
