Introducing the Wilson Family!
Hello everyone! Let's introduce the Keeping it Wilson family!
Let me tell you, starting a blog is not something that I would normally do! I am normally an introvert, but lately I have been feeling a push to put myself out there and do something a little more creative. Overall I'm hoping that this blog will touch upon many differing topics such as food, education, lifestyle, fashion, reviews, and updates concerning the Wilson family.
To introduce myself, my name is Anna Wilson and on September 5, 2015 I married my sweetheart Josh in the Manti Temple in Utah. It was an honor to be sealed there since my parents Robert and Rae Ann Tibbs got married there along with my Grandpa Bob and Grandma Ruth! We even got married the exact same month and day as Grandma and Grandpa. Despite the fact we got married in Utah, Josh claims Shelly, Idaho as home, and his family currently lives in Corvallis, Oregon. My family is from Bloomington, Indiana and they have been there for most of my life.
Since getting married we have had many exciting changes in our lives. After getting married I started working as a Registered Nurse at Madison Memorial Rexburg Medical Clinic in Rexburg, Idaho. While I worked there, I finished last year on my Bachelor's degree in nursing. I ended up graduating in July 2016 with my Bachelor's degree and since then I have been enjoying more free time than I've had in a long time. I have definitely gained an addiction to television shows and Netflix (a problem many people can empathize with :P). While in Rexburg, Josh and I enjoyed going to the free yoga classes multiple times weekly. It was a great release for us, and we loved it. I went on my own for a while, but after some pressuring... or force.... he ended up agreeing to go with me! I regret to say that Josh owned it and ended up being way better than me, even though I had a head start.
Josh has been busier than ever as well in the last two years! After we got married, Josh continued his education as Human Biology major at BYU-I and he ended up changing his major to Public Health as it coincided with his goals/requirements for Salus University, the PA school that he ended up applying for (AND GETTING INTO). Let me tell you, applying to graduate school is insane, and Josh was amazing with how well he handled his various jobs, school, volunteering, and other requirements. Throughout our two years Josh tutored Biology, was a TA for a public health class, donated plasma, worked for the Family Crisis Center, volunteered countless hours with various organizations, shadowed various physicians, and the most important part was that he was and is an amazing husband. Que really cute awwwwwws.
The year of 2017 has definitely been the biggest/craziest/most insane adventure so far! Josh and I found out in November 2016 that he was accepted into Salus University in Pennsylvania. After that I went into prep mode as we packed all of our stuff, looked for housing, finished our various jobs, went on lots of vacations, and ultimately traveled across the country! Let me tell you, this paragraph really condenses the craziness that it all entailed. The summer was definitely the best part of the year though as Josh and I got to spend a lot of much needed time with our special family members. We got to go to California with Josh's family and we spent three days with them in Disneyland!! Disneyland is definitely our happy place, and it was such a pleasure to spend time with everyone there. It also helps that we ate a lot of really good food and snacks there. After Disney we went back to Idaho for a week and then traveled to Indiana where we spent some time with my family. When we were there we went to Holiday World, and I got to meet two new additions to my family (Shout out to Hazel and Ike). I hadn't gotten to see some members of my family for over a year and a half, and so this was a much needed visit. Josh and I definitely felt very spoiled! We ate lots of really good food, and we spent a lot of time with each other. Family is truly the most important thing in life.
On July 31st Josh and I finally moved into our city apartment in Jenkintown. We quickly made our apartment home and we did big kid things like: bought a costco membership, made multiple trips to IKEA, visited the Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Rocky Steps, Philadelphia Art Museum, Terminal Market, China Town, Valley Forge... and we won't mention the number of restaurants that we have tried. We can definitely say that our new favorite store is Trader Joes. We admittedly go almost weekly to try their endless amount of fall treats and goodies. Our pants are definitely a little tighter then they were when we were in Idaho. After a few months, we are still LOVING the area and everything that it brings. Josh started PA school in August and he has been working non-stop and he is owning it. He feels very stressed, but as a bystander, I can tell you that he is also enjoying every minute of it. It is a very busy and expensive journey, but I am so grateful that we are out here. We have had our hardships since coming out here, but ultimately we know that we are being watched over and that we were meant to be out in Pennsylvania at this time. The area is beautiful, the weather is a lot nicer than Rexburg, and we could not be more grateful. It also doesn't hurt that our family is definitely more willing to visit us out here than they were in Rexburg, Idaho.
I know that this is getting really long, so thank you so much for reading this and indulging me in my effort to be creative. I am planning to post at least once a week! Hopefully you will hear from me again soon!
